Although we do have this Platen Knob in stock, we have listed it as out of stock since too many people have ordered it to try to fit it to a different typewriter model. Our description below has not stopped people from trying to order it for the Adler Royal Satellite 40 and Satellite 80, the Nakajima AE-710 and AE-740, and the Swintec 2600 and 2640. IT DOES NOT FIT THOSE MODELS. Those platen knobs have been out of production since 2018 and we do not anticipate getting any more.
As a small business, we are losing too much money from the credit card fees that are not refunded to us on these orders when we refund these customers. So we have listed this item as out of stock.
If you
DO have an Adler Royal Powerwriter model and wish to order this item, please be advised that these have ALSO been out of production for several years. As of Jan. 2022, we have 1 left in stock. Once those are gone, we do not anticipate getting any more. If you wish to order this platen knob for the Powerwriter series ONLY, then please email us at
[email protected] and confirm your typewriter model in your email, and we will contact you back with instructions on how to order. Keep in mind, all sales are final. There are no refunds and no exchanges. If you have a different machine other than the Powerwriter Office or Powerwriter MD, this will not fit and you will be stuck with a useless piece of plastic.
These platen knobs are made to fit the Adler Royal Powerwriter typewriter and the Adler Royal Powerwriter MD typewriter. IT WILL NOT FIT ANY OTHER MODEL. Please do not order this item unless you have an Adler Royal Powerwriter series typewriter.
If you order this item, we will call or email you to verify your typewriter model before shipping. Please expect to be contacted and we will appreciate a prompt reply.
Please note: As of December 2019, Platen Knobs for the Adler Royal Satellite 40 & Adler Royal Satellite 80 are discontinued. If you need a platen knob for the Satellite series, you might want to try to buy the same model typewriter used on eBay or Craigslist, or contact the seller, and ask if they will sell you just the Platen knob so you don’t have to pay such a high shipping charge for the whole machine. In the meantime, many people use a small vise grip or locking pliers to turn the platen.
